According to Brevo, the hosting servers used to process and store its databases are located within the European Union.
Email analytics
Brevo may allow us to see whether emails have been delivered, opened, clicked or unsubscribed from. This helps us understand whether our emails are useful and improve future content.
This may involve the use of tracking technologies in emails, such as tracking pixels or tracked links.
Where legally required, we only use this type of email tracking with your consent. If we use email analytics, the data may include:
- delivery status;
- open rate;
- click behaviour;
- unsubscribe status;
- bounce information;
- technical email interaction data.
If you do not want this type of processing, you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
Legal basis
We send newsletters, waitlist emails and marketing updates based on your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Where processing is necessary to prove that consent was given, prevent misuse or comply with legal obligations, processing may also be based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, as we have a legitimate interest in documenting consent and operating a legally compliant email list.
Unsubscribing and withdrawing consent
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email or by contacting us directly at:

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
Retention
We keep your newsletter or waitlist data for as long as you remain subscribed.
If you unsubscribe, we delete, or restrict your data unless we need to keep limited records for legal, compliance or suppression-list purposes.
Consent records may be kept for as long as necessary to demonstrate that valid consent was obtained.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Some cookies are technically necessary for the website to function. Others, such as analytics or marketing cookies, are only used if you give consent.
Necessary cookies
Necessary cookies are required for core website functions, such as security, page display, cookie preferences or form functionality. Where necessary cookies are used, the processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and, where applicable, Section 25(2) TDDDG.
Non-essential cookies
Non-essential cookies, such as analytics, marketing or tracking cookies, are only used with your consent. Where non-essential cookies are used, the processing is based on your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where applicable, Section 25(1) TDDDG.
At this stage, our website does not use non-essential cookies, analytics cookies, advertising cookies or tracking cookies.
We do not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar advertising or tracking technologies.
Our hosting provider, IONOS, may provide basic website statistics through IONOS WebAnalytics and server log data. According to IONOS, WebAnalytics does not use cookies and IP addresses are anonymised directly after transmission.
If we introduce cookies, analytics tools, advertising tools or similar technologies in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy before using them. Where legally required, we will also ask for your consent before those technologies are used.
9. Website statistics and search performance
At this stage, we do not use Google Analytics or other third-party marketing analytics tools on our website.
We currently use basic website statistics and search performance tools to understand how the website is performing, improve our content and monitor technical issues.
IONOS WebAnalytics and server statistics
Our hosting provider, IONOS, may provide us with basic website statistics and technical usage data through IONOS WebAnalytics and server log data.
According to IONOS, WebAnalytics uses either a pixel or log files and does not use cookies. The IP address is transmitted when a page is requested, then anonymised directly after transmission and processed without personal reference.
The data processed through IONOS WebAnalytics may include:
- referrer, meaning the website previously visited;
- requested page or file;
- browser type and browser version;
- operating system;
- device type;
- time of access;
- IP address in anonymised form, used only to determine the approximate location of access.
According to IONOS, WebAnalytics data is used exclusively for statistical analysis and technical optimisation of the website and is not passed to third parties.
We use this data only for statistical analysis, website security, troubleshooting and technical optimisation of our website.
This processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, as we have a legitimate interest in understanding basic website usage, maintaining website security and improving our website.
Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to monitor and improve how our website appears in Google Search.
Google Search Console helps us understand, for example:
- which search queries may show our website in Google Search;
- how often pages from our website appear in Google Search results;
- how often users click through to our website from Google Search;
- the average position of our pages in Google Search results;
- whether Google detects technical indexing, crawling or usability issues.
Google Search Console does not involve us placing Google Analytics cookies or Google Analytics tracking scripts on our website.
Using Google Search Console is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, as we have a legitimate interest in monitoring and improving the visibility, indexing and technical performance of our website in Google Search.
10. Embedded content and external services
Our website may include embedded content or external services, such as videos, maps, fonts, forms, social media posts or third-party tools.
When you interact with embedded third-party content, the relevant third-party provider may process personal data, such as your IP address, browser data or interaction data. Where required, such content will only load after you have given consent.
Examples may include:
- embedded videos;
- embedded social media posts;
- external fonts;
- map services;
- form tools;
- scheduling tools;
- payment or checkout tools.
Provider details
We embed videos from YouTube. YouTube is a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
If YouTube videos are embedded on our website, data may be transferred to Google when the video content is loaded or played. This may include your IP address, browser and device information, the page you visited, and information about your interaction with the video. If you are logged into a Google or YouTube account, Google may be able to associate your interaction with your account.
Where legally required, YouTube videos will only load after you have given your consent. Until then, the video may be replaced by a placeholder or preview image. Where possible, we use YouTube’s Privacy Enhanced Mode.
Loading YouTube videos and related third-party content is based on your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where applicable, Section 25(1) TDDDG.
11. Social media links
Our website may link to Peerie profiles on social media platforms. These are external links. If you click a social media link, the respective platform may process your personal data according to its own privacy policy.
We are not responsible for the data processing carried out by social media platforms when you visit their websites or apps.

We do not sell personal data.
13. International data transfers
We use EU-based hosting through IONOS.
According to IONOS, visitor data processed in connection with its webhosting products is not transferred to third countries outside the EU. IONOS’s data processing agreement provides that processing generally takes place in the European Union or the European Economic Area, unless a transfer to a third country is required to provide the relevant service. Where such a transfer takes place, IONOS states that the requirements of Art. 44 ff. GDPR are met.
Some third-party services we use, such as Google Search Console or embedded YouTube videos, are provided by Google Ireland Limited. In connection with these services, data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision by the European Commission or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
14. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, unless longer retention is required by law.
Typical retention periods are:
- IONOS webhosting visitor data: according to IONOS, stored for 8 weeks;
- contact enquiries: until the enquiry is resolved, plus a reasonable period for follow-up;
- newsletter data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent;
- consent records: for as long as needed to demonstrate compliance;
- business and accounting records: in accordance with applicable German legal retention obligations.
When data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it where possible.

If you object, we will stop processing your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or unless the processing is necessary for legal claims.
17. Right to withdraw consent
Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time.
This applies, for example, to newsletter subscriptions, non-essential cookies, embedded YouTube videos, email analytics or marketing tools that require consent.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
18. Complaint to a supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the GDPR.
You may contact the supervisory authority in the EU member state of your residence, your workplace, or the place of the alleged infringement.
19. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure.
These measures include secure hosting, access controls, encryption where appropriate, and limiting access to personal data to those who need it.
However, no website or online transmission is completely secure. If you contact us by email, please note that email communication may not be fully secure unless additional encryption is used.
